Dr. Steve Martin of Iowa State University continues his nationally renowned battery research with multiple grant awards.
Dr. Martin received the NASA EPSCoR Research Award, which is a three year grant award for proposed work entitled, “Research Capacity Building Program In Iowa: Developing New High Energy Density Extremely Safe All Solid State Lithium-Sulfur Batteries.” This award is in line with the NASA Space Technology Mission Directorate and work conducted at both Glenn Research Center and Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Dr. Martin’s continued research and collaboration with NASA is vital to enhancement of NASA technology, as well as Iowa’s Advanced Manufacturing economic sector.
Dr. Martin also received a Research Building Grant from the Iowa NASA EPSCoR Research Infrastructure Development program to increase his collaboration with several NASA centers. Through this travel and work support grant, he and his students will develop key understanding of the critical performance attributes required by NASA for their next generation space exploration missions.
