Dr. Bella Kim of Iowa State University has been awarded a Research Building Seed Grant for her submitted proposal, “Development of Autonomous Landing Air Traffic Management for Multi-agent Unmanned Aerial Systems.” Dr. Kim’s research will investigate the management for safe landing of unmanned aerial systems by utilizing existing landing procedures made by the FAA. This will align with the NASA goal to implement autonomy in aviation application safety. Her research is backed by the Iowa DOT, as well as NASA collaborators at Ames Research Center in California.
