Dr. Azadeh Sheidaei, Assistant Professor of Aerospace Engineering at Iowa State University, has been awarded a Research Building Seed Grant for her submitted proposal “Design of Printable Multifunctional Materials via a New Physics-Aware Deep Generative Learning Model for Space Applications”. Dr. Sheidaei’s research will aim to develop a design methodology for heterogeneous materials with optimum multifunctional properties and improved manufacturability. Her research will be in collaboration with a NASA scientist from Glenn research center. This aligns with the NASA research area of application of advanced materials and manufacturing in aeronautics and the space technology mission directorate. Dr. Azadeh Sheidaei’s research will contribute to growing the research competitiveness of Iowa in design, materials, and computation.
